I had a Pantech MHS291L that came with the Millenicom plan that would swell the battery until the back popped off (went through 2 batteries before I upgraded to a NetGear AC791L). I also had an iPhone 5 battery swell until it popped the face off of it. Apple replaced the phone for free even though it was well out of any coverage.
In both cases, I left the devices plugged in all the time (obviously, not when carrying the phone).
Jon, do you think that the swelling of your I phone 5C was caused by keeping it plugged in all the time to keep it charged? Or keeping it plugged in while using it as a hotspot?
