GS called me a few minutes ago. They stated that they place an authorization charge at the time of order. This usually expires before an order is shipped. Because my order was shipped so quickly (next day) the authorization for the funds had not expired yet and the final charge was also placed on my account. I explained to them that this ties up double the amount in the customers account until the first charge expires. It's now been over two full days since the first charge to my account was made and it still has not expired.
I let them know that when you order from Amazon this does not happen. I have an on-line business and I don't charge my customers twice.
On the plus side, they have contacted me right away to explain what happened and why.
On the negative side, their on line order system is flawed and ties up double the amount the customer places the order for.
