Ok, let's hear about experience of Dropbox.I have read where lots of passwords were hacked from users of Dropbox.How do you use this software?Does it save you time?.........................:C

I believe this forum deals with the type of box where if you drop it on your foot it hurts.

Dropbox is good if you have a pdf file or some other type of file you want to share with others. PDF files cannot be posted on a forum like this, so dropbox fills this void. Putting private information or photos you don't want to share on the internet is, IMHO, pretty dumb.....Dennis

I use dropbox to easily transfer files from different computers and Ipads.

I use it for sharing files that are too large to easily email--like high-res video & multiple large photos. You can share a file or folder with anyone else who has Dropbox, all you need is their email.It's a good way to handle a situation where multiple people work on a project. You still can't have the same file open at the same time, or one version will over-write the other, but it's very handy. It's also a good place to backup files, since you can easily restore them to any computer. For handling large files or backups, you will need the paid version, which is $99/yr for a terabyte.You can also automatically sync a file that you use on different devices.It's worth $99/yr to me, for sure.

I use it to have access to documents, excel files, pdf's on my iPad that are normally on my laptop. I don't keep things there long term and nothing private ever goes gets stored in drop box.

My experience with Dropbox is that it is simple and easy to use and does not care what device you are using to access it. I still use the Google drive, but that is just non-photo files. Google has you save photos on Google+. I also use one drive from Micro Soft. This has proven so far to be a very simple and easy to use system that does not seem to care if you use Microsoft or Apple computers. I have not tried one drive on a mobile device or tablet so far. Google drive and Google+ are very good on android mobile devices. I also store some data and photos on Apples system. Apple is in the middle of changing their system so not sure what it will end up as. So far I have found Apples system much more confusing than Dropbox or One Drive. However, Apple did just fix their iCloud document storage system this week so that it seems to work better. And those are the ones I am currently using.

I give Dropbox a thumbs up. The photo lab that develops and scans my film pictures sends me BIG files using dropbox. Works splendidly.

I use Dropbox frequently to share files on different platforms (desktop, laptop, iPad). No matter which device I'm using, all my files are there. Other free cloud servers I use are Copy.com and Amazon Cloud Drive.
