I just spoke to a CSR at Dish outdoors. She said to buy a 722 on Amazon. I replied that the CSR I just spoke to said even if I had a 722 DVR they could not authorize it on my acct. When I mentioned that to the Dish Outdoors CSR she said "we have customers do that all the time" and told me to call Dish back and speak to a more knowledgeable CSR. It would not be the first time I have had to do that with Dish and other companies.
I guess I can just switch the hopper back and forth but do not really want to mess with Joeys, etc. The hopper meets our home needs and years ago we had a dual tuner DVR when we full timed and I aimed the dish manually.
We have been Dish customers over 15 yrs and although Direct has some nice stuff on it, we just are not interested in learning a new system now.
