Only advice is trade it in on a VIP-711K (Avoid the Z) you might try asking for customer retention and suggest a change of provider to DirecHDTV if they do not do what you wish..
I very seriously doubt there is a Technical reason they can not activate the one you have... But of course they wish to maximize your bill.
I want a 722K tuner hooked up to it which I do not yet have. We have a hopper at home and the issue is that the Dish CSR told me I cannot put a 722K on the acct since I already have a hopper on it.
