I could download recorded shows to my laptop and watch... elsewhere.. but only a couple of programs will play them properly.. the one I choose... turns out to be part of the work around.) But they prevent streaming as much as they can.
If you want to download legally from youtube, you have to pay for a membership.
If anything, it's going the other way where it's easier to download because they know people will simply pirate if they make it too difficult. Doesn't mean it's free.
