Only if you buy them. Typically we rent from Redbox or similar.
Google Play would require streaming which doesn't typically work to well with RV park WiFi.

DVDs & Bluerays are slowly going away. Digital is the future like it or not. iTunes, Movies Anywhere, VUDU, Google and Microsoft are all part of it.

At home I use and older MacMini with external HD. I download all of my movies, either those I've ripped from my DVDs or now mostly buy from iTunes to the external HD. The iTunes ones need to "phone home" to verify authenticity, so I download them and it "phones home" I'm good to go, if it wants to check on the road I can use my phone as a hot spot or the park wifi. I go one step more and use an AppleTV4 and then network the Mini and ATV. Gives me access to all of Movies/TV shows that I own.

Not really needed in the summer but nice to have access.

You'll still have them , heck you can still buy record players ... .I'm full time , have a DVD player in the coach but haven't used it in 4 years. But your right streaming is the future and you say streaming is not an "option" for you..... It probably is , but like most you don't want or know how to find out.
I have 2 truly unlimited streaming hotspot plans 1 Verizon and 1 ATT for a grand total of 78 bucks a month.one of them always gives me enough speed to stream HD There are many ways to skin the cat and many more around the corner. So while streaming is out of the question for you today , it won't be very soon.
BTW in my casita I have a record album collection and a high end turntable connected to my stereo I've also got some "books" :)

Not sure just because Samsung doesn't garner enough profit from making (mostly inferior, at least the several units we purchased)) DVD and or Bluray players spells out the doom for this media. Talked to a fellow at Walmart filling those massive DVD bins, they fill them several times weekly to keep up with demand, he stated Covid 19 has increased their DVD sales by at least twofold. Somebody will always produce dvd players, similar to all the record/album players readily available in todays market.

Many DVD movies will include a digital copy that can be loaded onto a usb drive, movies purchased online can also be downloaded to memory card or usb, most modern tvs and AV receivers along with laptops have usb inputs. In any event it is not an issue we worry about, upon arrival and hooking to shorepower, our satellite automatically connects delivering all the movies, sports, and music we can handle. We do watch DVDs as well as we have found no consistent method to watch HD movies via park provided internet or through our phone plans.

Many vehicles no longer come with CD players. Many young people don’t own and have never used a CD/DVD player. Physical media is going the way of the buggy whip. (Although records are making a comeback due to better sound quality) Downloading music, movies, books to phones or tablets is part of the new norm. Streaming them over the net is a big deal now. Just don’t expect CG’s to provide adequate service for everybody’s wants.

Sounds like it, unless you carry your movies on hard media, or have your own streaming device/service. I don't think RV's figure large in the DVD revenue stream, in the manufacturers' mind anyway.

Well, I would take good care of your DVD player. I suspect they will be a thrift store item in the not-too-distant future.

I expect advances in wireless technology and "unlimited" data plans to take their place. I'm in a USFS campground with pretty darn good wifi for $2/day if paid by the week, but I'll be darned if I can connect my TV.

The unlimited plans from Verizon don't seem to be sufficient for the kinds of streaming you could do from home.
