Yeah, they've got a funny way of selling these if you want to buy rather than rent. When you buy it thru someplace like SolidSignal it is sold at a discount provided by DTV. Then when you try to activate it they'll tell you that since you bought your receiver at a discount you have to sign up for two years of service before you really own the unit.
