DW wants to watch tv,help!

I know this has likely been answered before and if anyone can help let me know where to find it. I have two Crown deep cycle 6v batteries (no converter). DW wants to watch satt. tv (have Carryout) in a campground with no electric. Have a genny to recharge batteries. What do I need to get to enable a couple of hours/day watching to make DW happy, (don't want to spend $$$$). Have 7days before we leave (short notice but need help). I am in dire straits!
  • a cigarette outlet only allows up to 180W, more typically 100W or so. A 400W inverter is overkill unless you hook it directly to your battery.

I run a 32" Samsung TV (45W) and a dish VIP211z receiver with attached pathway X2 (@60W) on a 175W inverter. You can order 200W inverters from Amazon (gopower is a good one) and have it shipped to you in two days.
  • As has been said, a 400 watt inverter is your solution.
  • I put a 12 volt cigarette type receptacle under the hood where I ran a coaxial cable directly to where my receiver is. My Direct TV needs to change satellites to pick up some stations. We use one of the receiver from the house.
I use a small inverter for the receiver and front TV. It is a 400 watt unit. it is wired directly to the power distribution center under the hood with #6 wire. I have a plug strip plugged into the inverter that powers the TV satellite, VCR/DVD player and out wireless hub.
I have a second TV in the rear with a separate 150 watt inverter. It is powered from the original 12 volt power receptacle.
You do not have your vehicle in your profile. Your actual installation could or will be different.
  • Run the generator to supply 120V AC power

    Hookup Carryout...align/set up

    Turn TV ON.scan for channels

Then when you have more time.......you can look into 'inverter', more batteries etc.
  • you will likely need a 400 watt inverter to run both. You can buy them nearly anywhere. They are not expensive.

Right now...run the generator. Wife will be happy!:)
  • You need a 12 Volt tv
    Try Jensen
Is the carry out 12 Volt?
If not you will need an inverter.
    Possibly more batteries
