If I read books mostly from Amazon.com I'd probably get a Kindle. But I shop around for e-books so use my iPad for reading because I can buy just about every book available mostly from Apple iBooks, Amazon.com (Kindle Reader app) or Barnes & Noble (Nook Reader app). I have just about every other reader app but don't use them as much. I also use the Overdrive app for my local public library. For popular new release books they are all generally competitive but each company offers specials to beat the other and you jump on them. Also, surprisingly, each do have books the others don't and Amazon.com doesn't always have a lock.
