Sounds like yours is different from mine. Mine has no idea of the date, which has come in handy a few times when I've gotten distracted and not finished a book before it is due back. I guessed they've wised up and fixed it. Bummer.
Come to think of it, all my books have been downloaded wirelessly so maybe that has something to do with it. Dunno.
You need to go to the settings, turn on wifi, go to date and time, click to manually change, and put in date and time. Then put date and time to auto and turn wifi off.
