So much good useful info by everybody, thanks!
I love my early version kindle, the battery is long lasting and charges fast. Not being connected to the web helps prolong battery life. How great is it to increase the size of the print? Having a wide variety of reading material in hand suitable for any mood is a thrill.
I have two problem about an otherwise wonderful device. One, the light, although dimmed, is reputed to hamper the brain's melatonin production, a potential problem for bedtime readers that can delay sleep. Look for an ability in the future for e-readers to offer the ability to vary the type of lighting, like the Phillips Hue bulb.
Second problem? I need to insure the dang thing with all the books on it!
