- drsteveExplorerIn Firefox, go to Tools/Options/Content/Colors. Uncheck "underline links". You can change the colors of the link text too.
- Gene_GinnyExplorerSee the links by Snowman9000 above.
I had forgotten about those anoying things, I haven't seen them in a long time.
I added this line to my hosts file:
127.0.0.1 *.kontera.com
The hosts file in Windows XP is located in:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\
You can use wordpad or notepad to edit the file. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI killed all the Firefox browser add ons. The problem lies in one of the ADOBE add ons.
- jrs1871ExplorerDo a search for "removing annoying programs" in technology. I inadvertently got a present of the programs that cause those hyperlinks when I was updating another program. posed the question and got the way to fix them. I finally got rid of them using the instructions for removing jfs.ticket.net.
For what its worth, I use firefox with adblocker, noscript and ghostery and still managed to get those PIAs. - 1492ModeratorWhat browser are you using?
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIAs I recall there is a setting somewhere on one of either my Firefox Menus or one of my Add-On menues to turn underlining off. But I have it turned on.
They are BLUE though. - Snowman9000ExplorerWell anyway, this was a common gripe a couple of years ago.

It came with a little "present" (virus) that changed my search engine and underlined random stuff. It took a while to remove but it's gone now.
I just wish I could remember the name.
"Oldtimers disease" is what I have. - MrWizardModeratorX2 on NoScript
- GdetrailerExplorer IIIThose are roll over inline ads, best way to fix them like others have mentioned is either Chrome or FireFox with AdBlockPlus.
Stops them dead in their tracks.
As a side note, those inline ads are third party links which ARE a major security risk to your PC. I personally have been hit TWICE with malware just be simply rolling my mouse over top of those ads.
Third party sites tend to get hacked, it is a lot like Russian roulet, you roll over and take a chance.
AdblockPlus is a first step to stopping them then add in NoScript which blocks all Javascripts from firing (Javascripts are not the same as Java). While it is a bit of a pain it closes a huge security risk. It gives you back some control on what scripts run and what doesn't.
You just enable only the scripts that truly need to run for the website to function, the other scripts are nothing more than uneeded fluff along with a security risk..
