Hi Everyone, We are paying about 80 bucks for our two AT&T flip phones and 75 bucks for home (Windstream) phone/internet. 117 bucks for DISH Network.
Is there anything I can have at home and camping to replace these?
I need internet and cell phone service.
I also have Dish but think I need to keep that at $117.00/month.
I have a separate antenna for dish network while traveling.
Thanks, Marvin
BTW, Neither of us use Text messaging.
$272.00/month
is putting a strain on our fixed income.
Cell phone:
$45/mo walmart Straight talk unlimited minutes, text, talk, and unlimited data. NO contract. Buy a phone or just bring your existing phone in, keep your number.
Just pay $45 bucks a month with credit card or pick up a monthly card at walmart and call in code.
If you are not a gamer you can easily use your phone on the $45/month card as a computer.
TV:
I had dish etc, ALL the channels, paid extra for the sports, and movie channels, pay for this box and pay for that box, yada yada yada.
............I CUT the line! I am cable/satellite free.....
I now use OTA - over the air antenna for FREE TV.
Depends where you are located how many channels you get. Right next to a major city over 40 channels. I does matter which OTA antenna you buy how many channels you will receive. I paid $50 bucks one time charge for the antenna for free channels.
My new winter home in Florida is below the road and surrounded by 100 year old trees and I 'still' get 28 free channels!! Plus And on weekends? ALL the sports channels broadcast for FREE. Every week they keep adding a channel off cable to my line up.
And here in Florida when it rains hard all the internet providers for TV go dark. I never loose my free channels.
My total for the month?.....
$45.00/mo
.
I now save over $200+ a month that I don't have to fork over to dish, that's appox $2,400+ savings a year.
I most certainly can afford cable/satellite, etc.
But, IMHO no one needs 'that' many channels, and actually no one can watch all the channels per month that they make you bundle to charge you more. And honestly does anyone really sit in front of that TV 24 hours a day watching cable to warrant that type of monthly charge? :W
