That's a different procedure if you want to get rid of erroneous "auto-complete" email addresses, those not in your address book?

Try this. When the suggested email addresses popup, then use your up/down arrow keys to highlight the erroneous address, and hit your DELETE key on your keyboard.

Are you using Windows Mail(Vista) or Windows Live Mail(WIN 7)?


Try this:

The Contacts button is located in the lower left corner of Windows Live Mail client windows.

Come on people, read what he is saying before you jump in. In windows mail when sending a new email and he types a letter in the "to" bar it automatically brings up every address that he has sent starting with that letter. For example if he types f it will list every address starting with f. Some are incorrect and he wants to get rid of them.

You mean you want them in the address book as incorrect entries, but just not show up in email? That'd be a good trick.

You need to find the tool in your email system, operating system, or software suite that manages your contacts list. Where this is, depends on a lot of things you haven't told us about the tools you are using.

Unless you are using a web-based online mail handler, then your contacts list is on their service, not on your computer. This will also have a tool for managing contacts or addresses, and it will usually show as a link ( contacts or addresses) on the mail home page, and often again on the compose page, Details differ with each provider: Google, Yahoo, AOL, Microsoft, or your ISP. My ISP just switched over to Google, but withhis own web pages, and I haven't yet figured out how to open mail, let alone manage addresses.

You will need to delete or correct those erroneous entires in your address book (contact info)

When they popup, use your arrow key to select the address you do not want, while highlighted, hit your delete key.
