Email client for Windows 10

We have used Microsoft email accounts (Live Mail/Outlook) since giving up the stix 'n brix with a cable internet provider/mail services. We were very happy with the Live Mail client for Windows until Microsoft changed their servers and sunsetted the Live Mail client.

The mail app provided with Windows 10 is woefully lacking in functionality (such as the ability to select multiple recipients from contacts, build mailing lists, etc.)

So... I've spent the past year trying to find a suitable solution and finally found something: eM Client The only limitation on the free version is that you're limited to two email accounts. Otherwise mail, contacts and calendar are all within one client and it synced with my Outlook account just fine.

Just thought I'd put this out there.

  • Roy,

You can upgrade your XP computer (that no longer provides updates) into a "terminal server" which gives you updates from now, until forever iirc!!

    Google: XP terminal server fix

That should put your XP machine into a terminal server that will update XP at the same regularity as the Win 7 or Win 10 computers

I'm still using my 2007 MS OUTLOOK with WIN 10 for my email accounts. 2007 MS OFFICE also worked just fine so I did not sign up for their monthly subscription new version...

I also do not use their IE program as well... I'll take that back - I do play the CARD game that came with it...

Their cloud for storage also scares me to death hehe - don't use it either as well as the Ask me anything program... Nothing else that I know of doing...

Everytime the WIN 10 upgrades I cringe big time... Have had to reboot back to last known good version a few times already...

Everything on my end looks just like the WIN7/8.1 version with ICONs down the left side and taskbar icons. My screen is doing my same screen saver I used back with Win-7 of night scenes...

I am running a DELL laptop which operates dual 24-inch monitors. The only time I open up the laptop is when I start up each morning...

My older WIN XP-PRO DELL M90 laptop is still running my Ham Radio programs and a couple of AUTOCAD type drawing programs. It is still getting updates??? I have all of my important things to keep from the XP-PRO on zip drives in case it finally gets shut down on me...

  • It's pretty frustrating how Microsoft get you hooked on an application and then removes it with Windows "upgrades". I thought Outlook Express was a perfectly fine email client. I tried the Windows Live email client that was offered as its replacement. It wasn't as good, but was still usable. Then that disappeared and I switched to Thunderbird a bunch of years ago. It's ok and does the job. Overall, I still like Outlook Express the best.
