I’ve moved 95% of what I do to my iPad, iPhone, and iCloud. The only thing I use my Windows based Surface for is to file my taxes, and the data is stored in ICloud. I tried the tax software available online and it wasn’t up to the task. I use the Surface occasionally when a website hasn’t figured out there are non-windows users out there and the website doesn't work.
I used to be a fairly big Excel user but now have found 1) I don’t need Excel anymore as 2) I don’t use a lot of spread sheets. Those I still use can be handled with the IOS versions of Apple’s Numbers.
Interesting tid bit I ran into is that while you can still get Microsoft Office components on iPads for FREE, if your IPad happens to be a Pro they force you to Office 365 and monthly payments. So if you happen to use the only iPad worth using for Excel, as it supports the Apple pen, you have to pay for it. Didn’t know that when I opted for the Pro.
