As a 64 bit OS it is going to be able to do most anything you want for a long time. The main issue will be software vendors that will prevent an install from taking place based upon the rev level of the OS.

Or at some point you will need a new computer, ... and you can’t install your existing software, your existing accessories will not work with the new computer cause they changed the connections, no drivers.
