While I'm not an avid fan of Facebook, I don't have to access it 10 times a day or respond immediately to someone's topic BUT with 1.35 billion active users as of March 2014, I guess they all can't be victim's of identify theft. Heck, your Home Depot card (Visa, MasterCard) is more likely to get hacked than your facebook account. To each his own, I do enjoy the many "groups" available(RV'ing, Pets etc)...even a RV.Net Facebook page.
:? It's not just identity theft. Except for those that feel the need to input EVERYTHING about them phone, address etc.:R
I opened one just to be able to see my friends. Because NOW you HAVE to log in to view. I spent an hour unchecking everything I wanted to keep private and there are MANY things 'they' will NOT let you check to keep private.
What then happens is that everywhere you go and everything you might join there is a box, or within the policy box you have to check which is on everything it says you give them permission to hook it up with google/facebook. It's epidemic how they have managed to take your facebook and connect it to everything. Just Try and find a site with out a F or bird logo on it. And if the logo is there you have given them permission to link back to yours.
I've been to sites just to purchase something and if you actually read the policy before you check it? It states they will hook all the info back to google/facebook and often many times twitter. I've yet to go to a site that i don't have to find the facebook connection to decline it.
Once you put your email on a facebook account you have given it to the internet universe. So if you have actually put ALL your private info on your email account.......thru facebook you've given it to all that may choose to use it. IMHO, JMHO Read, read instead of clicking clicking away.
