reubenray,
I have the Hotspot mounted on the side of a cabinet within a couple inches of a indoor "candy stick" antenna and two cell phones in wall mounted cradles also within a couple inches of the same antenna. Now, all devices receive an amplified cellular signal. Of course, if we move the cell phones very far, the signal is attenuated. But, if we use them like a corded phone (with a short cord), this is not an issue. An interior cradle type antenna is better, but it's a pain to get all the devices in (or close enough to) the cradle at the same time. I have tried using a rubber band to hold a phone on one side of the cradle and the hotspot to the other side, but it isn't very clean or convenient.
Hope this helps,
Steve
