FireFox & ReserveAmerica

Any one else having an issue using FireFox browser while using Reserve America? I use an iMac and the DW a Windows 8.1 laptop. Both with the same results: major hesitation, lagging and total lack of responsiveness. Used Google Chrome and not a lick of problems. I noticed it primarily with New York and Ohio parks.
  • I find it troublesome on my Android smartphone no matter what browser I try.
Very frustrating. Considering they are catering to a mobile population, you'd think they would improve their interface and connection times.
  • I've not had any issue with FireFox, nor Android tablet. Works fine. Just made reservations yesterday evening via Android tablet.

  • Are you using any add-on extensions with Firefox? Such as AdBlockPlus(ABP)?

I had an issue with CLEAR online account as it wouldn't display data usage stats on the home page. Turns out AdBlockPlus was blocking display. Disabling ABP on their page fixed the issue. CLEAR(Sprint) tech support didn't even know it could be an issue.

Firefox is my first choice of browsers. But it's usefulness by allowing add-on extensions can sometimes cause issues with particular websites.

You can easily test issues with extensions by re-starting Firefox in safe mode by clicking HELP > Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

Yes, I am. It seems that whenever a campground map is displayed on a Reserve America web page, firefox becomes very very slow and almost unresponsive. IE works much better. I have not tried Chrome. I am running Windows 8.1.

  • I've made several reservations for next winter on ReserveAmerica and Recreation.gov over the past couple of weeks with no issues using Firefox 39.0 on Win 8.1.
  • I was having Firefox issues and solved it by turning off hardware acceleration. Click on the 3 horizontal bars in the upper right hand corner, then options, then advanced and uncheck Use Hardware acceleration when available.

I'm having problems with extreme hesitation when using the campground map. I tried turning off hardware acceleration but it made no difference.
  • My FireFox does not show Hardware Acceleration, but did restart Firefox in the safe mode with add-ons disabled. Same result, whenever a campground map is displayed on a Reserve America web page, firefox becomes very very slow and almost unresponsive. Most everything seems to work fine until you click on the map then it almost locks up everything. Still searching for a fix, but will continue to use Chrome in the mean time.
