Flash Crash

I’m running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop, and
I’m having an ongoing issue with Firefox and Adobe Flash Player.
For the past few weeks, since updating to Firefox 33 (or maybe version 14.0 of Adobe Flash Player) I get a flash crash several times a day. Updated to version 15 of Flash Player yesterday and it didn’t help. I’ve checked on line for a solution, but all the info seems to be several years old, and most of the “fixes” didn’t seem to work anyway.
Anyone else having this problem?
Anyone have a solution?
Thanks

    same here.

Firefox has disabled flash on mine saying it's vulnerable. And actually suggests not downloading the update.

I'd be very wary of any message telling you not to update a browser extension? That's just what malware would want. A prime gateway to exploiting your system through vulnerable extensions. I wouldn't advise anyone to not update old extensions that patch security issues.

Scripting errors has nothing to do with Flash Player extension. However, most streaming media or add-ons that need Flash also require scripting such as Javascript.

I'm using the latest Firefox v33.x and Flash v15.x and have no issues.

You can check if your current Firefox profile is creating the issues by typing about:support in the address bar(URL), or by going into Help>Troubleshooting Information. Click the Reset Firefox button to revert Firefox to its default settings. It will save your bookmarks and passwords, and create a fresh profile sans extensions and custom settings. See if you're still having issues?
  • Same thing
    Remove Adobe flash
    Download and install older version

I don't update unless a website I access forces me to choose...update or quit using that website
  • I have been having this problem with Firefox and Flash for a number of months now - not just since recent updates. I do have a Flash block add on for FF and open flash objects on the browser only when I want to see something. If the video has a stop/pause and I pause or stop it before it runs through, the screen freezes and if I wait about 30 seconds (seems like longer), I get an error message that asks if I want to wait or close the script. If I say close the script all is well and Firefox is not frozen any longer. If I don't interrupt the flash and it plays through it is fine. This is also happening on my wife's laptop with an older FF installed - so the problem is Adobe and not a Firefox update. I have seen fixes for this for Google Chrome Browser but not Firefox. There is nothing about this when searched for including on the FF forums.
  • My solution to that problem
Is goto Mozilla.org....download a previous older version of FF
    Export your book marks
    Uninstall ff
    Install the downloaded version
    Import bookmarks
BTW. turn off automatic updating on ff and flash

I leave it as is. When flash is needed a red plug in icon appears next to the url. It asks if you want to allow once or always. I click once.

Been doing it this way for a year and it works fine for me.
  • A couple of years ago I had problems with most video players on FF. Went to Chrome and problems ended.
