Win7 AND widescreen monitor is most likely not compatible with your monitor program even though it is using a browser.
That is some very big changes, newer version of OS (98 to W7), FF (FF v3.x? perhaps to FF v12 or higher?) browser program not to mention large changes to flash player from 98 to W7 along with a lot of other changes under the hood of W7 which may not be friendly).
I would suggest seeing if there is a new version of monitoring software for your device, otherwise you may need to install a virtual machine environment and install 98SE as a virtual device (although support for 98SE within a virtual environment is sketchy at best).
