Thats not a fair question since what you are talking about isn't even yours, it's streaming, takes data, and is dead when the phone is.
Does it come with updates? Smart phones are always up to date.
So to answer properly, yes, just like any other GPS with on-board maps. Mine has been updates 3 times - mcsandmanExplorerGood question.

I really like the system in my 2014 Explorer. Probably my only complaint and I know it is at least partially my fault is; I have problems hearing the voice directions and I don't seem to be able to turn it up enough to help. - bdpreeceExplorer III really like the system in my 2014 Explorer. - BB_TXNomadThey are expensive compared to portable units, but work very well. My 2012 has been very good in accuracy and the large screen makes it very easy to see and read street names. And, to me, much better than having a unit sitting on top of the dash.
- I have seen many improvements in my vehicles...05/09/ and now the 2015.. As far as accuracy is concerned , it is dead on..( for the most part )
- Golden_HVACExplorerI think the early systems and a cost of over $2,000 they where not worth it at all! You can buy a portable GPS for about $100. And if it breaks, you can replace it cheap. I would hate to have the heater controlled by the flat screen, if that broke, it would almost be a requirement to repair it at $90 a hour shop fees, very expensive.
