Most people don't know but Garmin nor most any GPS manufacturer, make their own maps. Garmin gets theirs from NAVTAQ as does YAHOO maps, MapQuest, Bing maps and others. TeleAtlas is the other major company (TomTom, Navman, etc.). If you have errors it is quicker to report them on the map maker web site. You eliminate the middle man that way.
