I do not have any quality issues viewing the video from netflix, youtube, or Tubi on my laptop.
Hate to say it, but I guess your idea of quality, is not the same as mine..

Much sharper, less blocks and can be scaled up much larger (in fact that video has been shown on a 7ft diagonal projector screen).
I don't have any 1080 examples on this PC..
But hey, if you are happy with the first pix quality, have at it, not my kind of gig, I do like to see some detail without the blocks..
Streaming free stuff, is pretty much not for me as all of the free stuff I have found looks like the first pix and I am not about to pay for 10 different streaming services to get the quality of the second photo.
I get razor sharp 1080 HD video on my Dish.. But I do understand that that is not an option for you.
