Ft Pierce area TV reception

Fortunately the OP has canceled his TIVO order based on the one post by someone that has actual experience with OTA in Ft Pierce, FL.

I agree with Bill, in that none of us has actual answered with current local information. However, I would not order new expensive equipment based on what I have read here.

Why is everyone posting without any actual experience? The one guy that did (been there, done that) seems to indicate that reception is nearly impossible. While the phrase "what happens in Vegas says in Vegas" might be appropriate for Vegas, it has nothing at all to do with Ft. Pierce.

According to AntennaPoint, all of the networks are available within 60 miles. With my Sensar IV batwing and Sensar Amplifier and meter. That is will within my range(over flat country). We did 65 miles from Cape Lookout in North Carolina, and at least 50 miles from other sites.

According to my software app Ft. pierce is within range of all the networks ( barely ). ABC 25 (16) should be stronger as it is close as are a couple independents.

We are a good 50 miles away here in Northern Neck VA and I get all of the networks channels either from Washington DC or Richmond VA which are both some 50 miles away.

I am pretty sure you are more than 50 miles away from Ft. Pierce, FL (the topic here) but maybe you are referring to some kind of a space/time continuum that I am not familiar with. Are you able to receive the Ft. Pierce channels there in Northern Neck, VA?

My antenna is the crank-up WINEGARD BATWING with the UHF dipoles on it... For some reason the CBS network channel is the worse one for me to get constantly and naturally that is the one I want to watch all the time...

Here on the house I use the 8-bay BOW-TIE flat array and Washington DC comes in like a charm on all some 80 channels I get from them. A whole bunch of these channels of course is the PBS channels.

Here at the house I use a RCA pre-amp mounted on the array which runs from a DC CONTROL VOLTAGE coming up the coax. This also will work from the 12VDC antenna pre-amp Voltage in the RV's just like the BATWING uses...

When we camp OFF-ROAD in our POPUP trailer we have a 10-foot pole up the side of the popup with the BATWING antenna mounted on it. Works great all over the East and South camping areas here on the East side of the US.

Thanks for the quick answer. Order has been cancelled. I guess I'll check with cable company down there and try to get cable for the winter.
