Chrome is working okay again today! Hit the back key at the bottom and the popup was cleared out. I know or at least think this was done previously but?? Yesterday tried almost everything except back to factory settings. Reviewing the popup it appeared was on the Amazon website so maybe lost out on the prize. I was on the Montana owners website not Amazon when chrome froze. Had not been on Amazon before this happened.
Thanks for all the help for this dangerous old man with computers! On to new challenges.

Sounds a lot like a Browser hijack and or malware.

Try clearing all browser cookies, history and empty the browser cache, check to make sure it didn't change your start page.

Then reboot the Tab and see if it comes back..

I don't deal much with Android, but you might be able to find some different malware removers and or browser hijack removers.

If all else fails and nothing above works, I have found that a complete factory reset often works magic on my DD and DWs tabs with Android in fixing browser related issues and locking up issues..

The downside is you NEED to ensure you have all your passwords and any important files backed up before taking this step as it will refresh the device by fully reloading the OEM OS image of the device and you will have to reinstall all of your apps and data..

The message looks like a popup in my opinion.You still see the chrome background but can't do anything. I had a similar "popup" some time back and you could restart and no problems after that for several months. This is not the same message as before. I have scanned with free AVG and Malwarebytes and no threats found.

I can't get my head around what your issue is. The way you get to the Internet with "Google" is the Google Chrome browser. I think there is some "miss-communication" going on here. I'm just trying to understand. Is the giftcard message in a Chrome tab or a pop-up on your tablet?

Howard and Peggy - Yes, did all that and still have the giftcard message on Chrome. Unable to do anything on Chrome. Will attempt to look for and hopefully find the start up menu. I have to turn the tablet off and restart to get out of Chrome. Again, have not clicked the "OK" on the message and not going to. I am able to get to the internet using Google on the tablet. Thanks,

Check your "start up menu" and make sure to clear it out there too.

Have you tried "Disable", or "Force Stop" in the "Settings" app? Then "Clear Cache"?

Searching the internet on desktop it appears you can't remove Chrome from an android device! Probably not doing something correctly. Going to take a break from this to clear my head and calm down.

Have tried everything suggested. Probably have a different version on tablet. Android version is 5.02. Found the Chrome app "circle" and pressed and held hit remove. Didn't work. Didn't see "close". Thanks for trying.
