Give Dish heck for dropping Fox News and get a credit

They Dropped Faux News.. Well good for them is all I can say.

Down here in S.E. GA I went to watch a favorite show on my daughter's DirecTV.

Guess what.. "Service unaviable" yup, Direc has an agrument with that network just now.. WHY I LIKE OVER THE AIR.

I called Dish one day to see if they had any promotions, I got $20/month off for a year, I hated to pay $70 a month for 120 channels when I watch only a handful. Wish they would have an al carte programming plan but I know I would pay more that way.

After my promotion expired I called again and they had no more promotions. I told them it was time to cancel and they gave me $20/month off again for another year. At first they told me that they can only do it again for 9 months and I told them I will not bother to keep doing this again and again so I said let's cancel. I got it for another year.

Personally for me I hate spending $70/month for TV where I can use this money for something more productive. I love some of the History and shows so I keep it, at least for now. Why should I spend so much for HSN, horse racing, etc????

I believe these companies (Dish, DirectTv) are going to the way side, there is too much streaming out there with on demand shows, news and the like. My Apple TV has a lot of other things that do have a subscription but not all the other junk that goes with it. If they don't change they will go bye bye.

I realize that some of you have different likes and will continue with what they offer, we are all different. I agree with the OP in the way that you can call and negotiate. For some of us TV is a necessity, for some it is entertainment etc.....

I have nothing to offer but this:

Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar

1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted

1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.

2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

I definitely made up my mind about Fox News when I read about the connection with The Mainstream Media siblings & relatives that have high end jobs with White House.

However, the question implied that no one watches Fox.

The channel is not the underdog they like to portray themselves. They are the big dog in the US news business.

How much did you spend on your truck, rv, home, food, Christmas or birthday presents, entertainment, internet access, etc.... you get the point. It is none of anyone's business how they spend their money. In fact there are some factions in the United States that make their living intentionally making these divides as a means to their ends.
