gmail contacts list

I use Windows Mail for my email client for my gmail account.

When I look at the contacts I dont see a particular account that comes up when I start typing into the To: field. It shows 4 email addresses all the same person each with 2 different numbers. These are both actually cell phone numbers.

I have check my local contacts list and the contacts list on my gmail account and it isnt in either listing.

My question is why does one not show up in my contacts list but it does show when I start typing? Id like to find where it exists and delete it as it is an old cell phone number.
  • In Gmail, check to see if the names appear in your Other Contacts. There is a setting to automatically add contact information to this section. You can turn it off by unchecking the option "Create contacts for auto-complete" in the General tab of the Gmail settings.

I'll just hazard a guess - bet your 'auto-complete' is turned on and at one time yo did type/enter that information.

Yes, autocomplete is on and it was a valid email/phone text number, but where is it stored and how can I delete it?

So it sounds like it is stored in the Windows Mail Client dropdown list - where is that list stored and can I access/edit it?

    On edit:
I did a search on the web (should have before :)) and they suggest deleting from the registry - but it deletes the complete dropdown list - not selectively.

    cmd /k reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Recently Used Addresses" /f

JJnLilly - thanks for the tip.
