In general we like our RVND 7720. But it has some irritating quirks. First is that the speed limit notices are wrong frequently. RM is simply not keeping up with the accuracy of posted limits. I do take the time to send the notices different speeds, but of little avail.
A very irritating idiosyncrasy is the trip planning feature through the Good Sams web site. Its a bit complicated so I'll try to explain it best I can.
When pre planning a trip, the trip is loaded from the GS web to the GPS device. However if you are not sitting DEAD ON the GPS set starting point, the GPS will consistently re- route you to the starting point until such time as you cross that pre-planned exact point. We went through this process of trying to start a trip and never could get it to work to get us to the second point. For about a month we were on the phone intermittently with RM techs who could not explain or resolve the problem. Finally a supervisor said the only solution to this is to start a planned trip at a point several miles down the road from where you start from and not to us the starting point as the place you actually are sitting at.
I understand the nature of that issue now but wish they could find a fix for it.
The only other quirk is that some rest areas seem to be missing in some cases. I live for rest areas!
All that said I'd probably buy one again-- just takes some real getting used to.
