GPS units

I just purchased a Magellan Roadmate RV9365T-LMB GPS unit for my husband for Christmas. After reading a few reviews I am now hesitant about letting him open it up and thinking about returning it to camping world. Every review said how the GPS works poorly and the reviews did not have anything good to say. There were only 7 reviews. Has anybody else had any luck with a RV Gps unit and if so what type did you buy? There are not many RV GPS units out there.
  • I just ordered this Garmin online at Amazon. Found a good price and will get it next week. I have always purchased Garmin products in the past. I am surprised Camping world doesn't carry them..guess I will return the Magellan back to Camping World. The sales clerks at the store were not helpful at all which didn't surprise me.
  • thanks Trackrig for the information. I am always trying to compare my GPS to my mobile device for directions when traveling. But that makes sense that the RV GPS would keep you on highways. We also like to jump onto the smaller backroads to take in the scenery. We only have a 39 foot fifth wheel but always worry about the height of our rv which is almost 14 feet.

As others have said, today may be a little late -- especially now.

I'd suggest you do like my wife does. Wrap it, put it under the tree, and tell him you'll return or exchange if it's not exactly the one you want.
  • I had 5 Magellan's in 4 years.. warranty was Good.. product no...

Garmin 2597 with life time maps.. for 2 years now.. good unit.
  • Check out Copilot an app for tablets and smartphones. Lots cheaper with free updates and RV profile. Search "copilot" on this site and read reviews.
  • I just bought a Garmin 2797LMT and by just quickly looking at the Garmin RV 760 LMT it seems as if they're a lot alike. 7" screen, voice activated, lifetime maps and traffic and the screen looks the same. I bought mine off of Amazon which had the best price I could find for a new one. It has very good reviews.
