I've had mine for several years....and just used it again the other day.
I just had a new T-stat installed with a new A/C unit at home....I used the gun to check the wall temp next to the T-stat, and it was spot-on as far as temps were concerned.
I don't know just how well it is calibrated, but this one was within 1-degree (actually exactly)...so it could be that others are of a degree or two?
Worth the money...YES!!! Great for testing the brakes, tires, bearings, etc for RVers.
Especially since you are really looking for differences...not an exact temp.
Ex.: One set of brakes is 100-degrees hotter than the rest.....that would indicate a possible problem.
