Maybe in large cities. Many rural don't have cable with unlimited internet.

Ah, but if you want to stream video you need a good HIGH SPEED internet connection.. And DSL barly cuts it.. CABLE can do several times the speed of DSL so as their income from video programming goes down their rates for Internet will go up.. that's all. The Cable Companies have you screwed either way (Or the Sat TV companies) and if the ads I saw last summer have any truth to them the Paid Providers are trying to get rid of Over the Air delivery, but I would guess they failed since the government has a vested interest in OTA.

Good for them! I hope more and more of the programming goes that way also.I hope ALL of them break away from cable. Cable has been raping the public for years and it only gets worse every year you pay more for less. Or pay double in packasges just to get the one program you wanted. :RI canned them. I use over the air antenna for all the channels I need for FREE. All the sports events are right there for anyone to view for FREE. Unlimited movies can be rented for a mere 10 bucks or so over the internet, etc.I found it interesting that on the over the air receptions, a channel didn't' exist or that has no signal WILL have a signal when the football or baseball games are on! They know there are a lot of us out there not using cable and they boost the signal to allow us to receive all of it that most are still paying for!!:BYesterday 'every' single football game pro and state, baseball game etc was aired for free for me to watch ad naseum all day. I used to pay a 100 bucks a month for that package.Who still needs cable?

I'm not a sports fan and I don't watch many movies so I ditched DirecTV years ago and haven't missed it a bit.Even though there is a lot of sports available over the air it's not near what is available on satellite and cable. The sports junkies won't jump ship until live sports becomes available via the internet.As far as TV stations increasing power during sports, no stations in the US are allowed to do this. The FCC does not allow this. Any additional stations that happen to show up is pure coincidence.
