HD TV repair question

Hey folks looking for some advice on fixing my Samsung 55" (Model UN55D6400UFXZA). Without going into details I believe my problem is the System card.
Here's my problem the part # on the System card is BN94-04869X and it appears it is not a valid number. I've Googled it to death and checked every website that supplies TV parts...nothing.
I've looked into what is the recommended spare for that TV, (BN94-05038N) and they look very similar but they are not the same. All the connectors on the board are identical but there are some differences near the center of the board. Chips don't match up.
All these websites have an almost identical warning. Don't order parts based on model numbers only use the part numbers that are actually on the boards.
I'm fairly technical (15 yrs with IBM), I have a feeling this two boards are interchangeable
but does anyone have any real life experience?

Thanks,
Dozer

x2 on this. Maybe you've already checked out the power supply, but if not, I suggest you do that. Unfortunately, the schematics are unobtanium. Current Samsung service manuals are nothing more than instructions for swapping the boards. At least some of the power supplies have really good board labeling for the connector pins that can help check out the power output.
  • A number of goodwill stores are also authorized electronics disposal facilities. they'll use what they can and dispose of the rest, no charge. Problem is technology in TVs are changing so fast you may want a new one every few years anyways. 4k for your rv?

A couple years ago, at the beginning of the camping season, we purchased new outside camping chairs. The problem was, ... what to do with the old ones. We had 2, they were heavy, and big!

We finally were at a campground that had easy access to dumpsters. Guess what went in the dumpsters that night?
  • Found a board years ago on EBay, was used but guaranteed and it did fix the problem. No one stocks spare parts anymore and they consider all electronics as throw a ways. Good Luck
  • Have you googled your symptoms yet? Google the symptom and then look at the uTubes on how to repair. Most Samsungs have problems with the power supply (different colored dots on the screen, colored lines, etc). You can buy parts, usually a bag of new capacitors, to repair the power supply on eBay for 10 bucks

  • Well the board was under $200...but I hear you!

  • Should have gone to the Black Friday sales and got a new TV. Probably cheaper than that board. $299 and up for 55".
