I have found that they are extremely sensitive to lightning static and power surges. I have a 4 way and a 2 way in my home DirecTv setup and none have lasted a year. Not complaining but just be prepared to replace them sooner rather than later. I keep a spare of each.
I had tried the HDMI to Cat5 also and the HDMI seems more reliable.
