Hooking up a 12V 3A TV in my TT

Let me ask.. if you want water to flow at say 1/2 gallon per minute but your pump puts out 2.5 GPM do you "Throttle the pump"?

NO. the faucet is only opened part way

There is no need to "Throttle" The amperage. the TV (like the faucet) does it automatically.. The only issue would be if you tried to run the 3 amp TV off a 2 Amp Power supply. That won't work.

Now some folks worry about the fact the RV's electrical system is really 13.6 to 14.6 but 12+2.4 (That's 20%) is 14.4 And that's the tolerance on most of that stuff. Odds are the OEM wall wart is going to hit 15 volts no load.

Have done it in the past. Do not currently but that's due to not having the proper power cord. if the wall wart or power brick on my 12 volt TV ever goes bad I'll cut. and tie into the 12 volt system.

center pin is Positive.

I am thinking I can just find a car adapter with a plug the size for TV on the other end. I think it is the 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug.

I really don't want to try to use customer service if at all possible. My patience doesn't allow it and I don't speak very good Taiwanese.

wish there was an ez way. you might try calling Insignia tech support in the morning and asking.

OK, i found a couple 12v 3a setups on amazon. THey have a built in 3a fuse. I may just get one of them, but is there an easy way to tell what size MM plug I need for the TV connection. I am guessing 5.5mm, but not sure.

nothing larger. keep tv off, attach pwr cord to tv, plug into power, turn on tv.

So, I am guessing a 5amp fuse???

always...always...use an in-line fuse on your power cord. better a fuse blows than the TV.

here's your user manual. unfortunately, the specs page does not show an acceptable voltage range or 12-v plug polarity. odds are very good the tip is positive.
