Hot spot and data drain

Do any of you have a sense as to how much data I might burn if using a tv with a Roku stick, signing in with my cable subscriber and feeding it with ny WiFi hotspot.

I’m wondering how much data will get used for appx every hour of tv. The hotspot does not have unlimited data so I want to be mindful of burn rates.

He's using the ROKU to stream his home cable channels in a remote location...

  • Turn the resolution down to the minimum on the Roku. Shows will load faster and use less data.
  • Depends on image quality. High quality will burn a lot of data really quickly. Not sure if you have any control with the Roku.

We might go thru 0.3-0.6 GB watching a movie. If you've only got a 4-5 GB plan, it won't last long.
