I guess if SteetView is all you use a mapping program for, that works fine. However, I don't seem to have any of the problems you note with Google Maps. - rockhillmanorExplorergoogle maps, satellite and street view are all hosed up now. That site is a joke. Takes 20 clicks to get where you want to go and Half the time it doesn't even work now.
I now use.

NOTHING else on the site, loads instantly, just plug in address. done.
Plug an address in and up pops the entire view with the ability to move around. None of the junk on the page like the google maps site has now. - AsheGuyExplorer

Seems to me I used to be able to do that, but I've now forgotten. I tried Google Earth but didn't see how to do it. The site allows you to see any street or structure anywhere through satellite imagery. Thanks for your help.
You can still do it on Google Earth, but Google Maps has this and more.
In Google Maps, go to location you want to see an aerial shot of:
Then click on the "Earth" icon in lower left corner of window and you see:
Then zoom in with "+" icon in lower right to get a closer look:
Then you can drag the yellow/orange human figure in lower right to a street to see a street side view. The view can be rotated for a 360 degree view of what is on that street.
You can't see some of the screen icons I mentioned because my screen clips don't include the whole window.
Very simple to use (after you have used it a few times :) )
It's like magic. :) It's a little scary what people can pull up these days. - sch911ExplorerGoogle Maps or Bing Maps. Both have different images. Sometimes Bing has newer shots.
- jplante4Explorer IIZillow does this as well, but the pic of my place on Zillow is 15 years old.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIEnter the address into the Search box in the upper left hand corner of Google Earth.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIgoogle maps, earth (little icon lower left). If you want to save: prnt scrn, paste to Paint, edit, save
