- BumpyroadExplorerno "F" connector either? can easily go from RCA plugs to F connector for under $20 at walmart but don't know how to go from F to HDMI?
bumpy - MNtundraRetNavigatorI can't believe there is any TV cheap enough to only have one input. Have you read the TV manual yet?
If that is the case use the coaxial cable. - IvylogExplorer IIIBuy a new player with HDMI for $40.
- wildtoadExplorer IIdo a google search for RCA to HDMI and you will find several solutions. Since you are wanting to go from RCA plugs to HDMI you can find a simple cable for under $10. Going the other way with just a cable would not work. But as someone else said, your better option might be to upgrade the DVD player.

But, something like this would work, too.

You will see wires with the right ends. If you notice by the reviews and ratings, they only work in special applications. These wires DO NOT CONVERT the analog signal to digital. You can get one and see if it works. But, I highly doubt they will. - lots2seeinmyrvExplorerOK. Thanks for replies, thought there might be a simple cable but I'll look at replacing the old DVD.
- 1492ModeratorThat's the best route. Otherwise, a Component to HDMI converter box would cost the same or more than just buying a basic Bluray Player. And you'd be able to play DVDs and Bluray HDs, both of which would already be digital video/audio. The box would have to convert analog component video and audio signals to digital for HDMI. Likely resulting in an picture lacking in overall sharpness.
- RoyBExplorer IIMy somewhat newer VIZIO has the input/output connectors all grouped together on the back but also has a edge panel of connectors for alot of video and audio input/output connectors that the user can get to easy...
As popular as the RED WHITE YELLOW video/audio connector are I am surprise you TV doesn't have them somewhere...
We carry the stand alone WALMART $35 DVD movie player that uses the RED WHITE and YELLOW connector set with us all the time when camping...
Roy Ken - darsbenExplorer III would love to know what brand Television so I can avoid it
- lots2seeinmyrvExplorerOk...think I got it figured out. It is a Samsung Series 5 (5000/5010) LED TV.
I found the booklet and in the baggie I found a "Component Adapter" cable.
One end has the Red/White Audio with the Red/Green/Blue plugs...the other end has a Seafoam Green square plug with 2 prongs that go into the TV set where is says AV IN and COMPONENT IN.
Going to go see if I can get it to work and will try and find a picture of it to post.
