DUDE!! HDMI is the way to go! 1 wire for everything. Less mess, less fuss. You don't need to buy overpriced wires. monoprice.com has good affordable wires. And, it isn't like the old analog days, where paying extra for cables gives you better video and audio. With digital, either the 1's and 0's go through, or it doesn't.
However I have a VHS deck and a DVD that I do not wish to replace.
If a manufacturer does not want to make his components backwards convertible I prefer not to buy it.
