Strange as it may seem,,, I do not often hear of those goign walkabout without their owner's attached.
That said.... I keep thinking of that scene in,,, I think Goldfinger,, where James and the Young lady are in the forest and the bad guys are trying to break into James' car which has a "Burglar Protected" sign on the door window.
There is a loud explosion (off screen) and James says to the young lady, "Do you have a car?, Mine is out of commission." or some such line (I only remember he ask about here car with a comment).
Of course, that kind of security,, though effective at stopping their NEXT attempt, is both illegal and tends to damage your tailgater.
