- gmctoymanExplorerI've had one a long time, it works well. My complaint, as others, is the 2 wires instead of one.
- sclarkExplorerWe just purchased the king quest. Came with 50 feet of coax. It is working perfectly. It receives power through the coax. Direct SD.
- jwmIIExplorerI use the winegard carryout. Purchased when they first came out. About 2009. I made an adaptor to fit the ground tri pod that the carryout mounts on. Frequently when camping in heavily wooded areas the carryout has to be re-positioned to see the satellite. once located I secure the tri pod with large nail style spikes so it won't be blown over. It provides an excellent picture. Mine is not HD. For camping I do not need HD anyway.
Any mounting method that is secured to the RV will limit your ability to maneuver around to find the satellite.
I see the Camping World Catalog offers a tri pod mount for the carryout. I think for their nearly 100.00 price tho that I would still build my own. The satellite ground tri pods are foldable making for easier storage and it seems like we all have at least 1 laying around. - turbojimmyExplorer

If you use standard definition, we use Winegard Carryout MP1 Manual.
Has it's own storage box, despite it's smaller size, it is actually easier to find satellites than the bigger dishes. Holds up well over the years.

I just got one of those and it's great. I like the portable case/base.
But the real answer is that it depends on your budget. The MP1 is relatively inexpensive and can be aimed easily with a cell phone app. If that's too much work for you, you can spring for an automatic unit that will find the satellites for you at roughly 3x the cost. - chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
We use a new Winegard G2 and it works well with DiercTV. My dislike is you have to have not only the satellite cable but also a 12 volt cable to connect to it. I would look at the new King Quest portable satellite that does not require a 12 volt connection only the satellite cable.

Chiefneon - Dadio24ExplorerThe VuQube has worked for me for 5 years...easy set-up and travels very well buckled into the toad passenger seat.
- randallbExplorerI do not currently own a carry out but I will be getting one prior to us picking up the new trailer in May. From my research I decided to purchase the King VuQube 2100. All the others require stringing a 12V source out to the antenna for set up. The VuQube uses a 12V box inside that stays hooked up.
Randy - Dutch_12078Explorer IINone of the single LNB dishes will receive HD on Direct.
- 2_RetiredExplorerWe also have Direct TV boxes and use the Anser portable dish by Weingard. It is very light, stores easily, and is extremely easy to set up and operate. Only manual adjustment requires is the altitude (very, very easy to do). Automatically finds satellite. Also requires 12V to power up and also can be disconnected and stowed. Works with both Direct (not on HD) and Dish (will receive HD). Can attach two different TV's to receive different stations for each TV. Have had this for at least 3 years and never had a problem. Use it both with separately purchased stand designed just for it and also have used it directly on the ground or on small table. Less expensive than most other portable satellites as well.
