What we're talking about are the small carryout satellite antennas that you'd use instead of a regular manually pointed satellite dish.
Most of these are designed to work with any satellite receiver although some are specifically made for a certain satellite provider (DISH, DTV, etc.)
Thats exactly what I'm eluding to also. It has a remote control that allows you to program the dish to find the satellite and that combination is unique to the pair. In other words, you could steal the satellite cube or dish but you wouldn't be able to program it to find a satellite without the remote.
