how do you pack your DirectTv dish for travel

Did the folding arm mod on our Dish and Directv HD sats and store them in our basement storage on our TT. Tripod folds for easy storage as well and will fit just about anywhere. Before the folding arm mod we would at times store dish in TT or backseat of our crew cab truck.

ok.. mines a FW, so no toad..

take off the 4 nuts on the back of the dish,now you have a flat pan and a separate lnb arm,quick and easy.

I have the Slimline also and lay it in the bed of truck and secure it in the front corner with a bungee cord. It does not have the foldable arm. The tripod goes in the front storage compartment.

Ours also lays on a bed in our fifth wheel.

I throw mine in a rear compartment. They are pretty tough. Mine is Dish. I do remove the dish from the base

I picked up one of these FOLDING Portable Dish totes. Mine had two heads on it and I included the bird whistle meter to find the satellite. I had two 100-feet of RG cable to feed two SAT RCVRS (Front room and Bed Room) wrapped up around the outside posts. All folded up pretty nice and easy to stow away.

I always setup mine on the back of the hard cover on the truck bed. This always reminded me to put it away when we went somewhere in the truck and not leave the dish setup unattended.





Carried this combo around for a few years until the high definition local Digital TV stations got going with the Natl Broadcast system.. Got better pictures using those stations than from the satellite...

I lay ours on the bed after I take it off the tripod.

I have a medium sized plastic tote that everything but the dish and tripod goes into. Yes, I take it completely apart. Much easier to store..
