You bought it, but it's somebody else's fault that you now hate it. Apparently you didn't do a thorough enough PDI before purchase. :)
I would LOVE an alternative. Please omit cheese-slicing-thin models.

I prefer a larger screen e-book, i.e. the Kindle DX, a 10 inch e-ink e-reader. They've discontinued the DX several years ago, supposedly lack of sales. I don't care for LCD screen e-readers. I gripe about it, to myself mostly since the world at large gives not a whit, but I'm a very small minority and unlikely to be catered to. So you can join a very, very small, and mostly ignored, group.
And you're old so you count even less in a youth oriented market.
