How to get directv in my rv?
Is it possible to hook up my old directv 18" satellite model 18LNBRO-02 with my newer directv genie reciever (the small one) model c31-700 together to my rv?Im not worried at this point about getting ...

I'm still with Docj. OP has a state-of-the-art receiver so why not take advantage of it? OP did not state what kind of set he pushing the signal to. If it is not HDMI equipped, his Genie will still only do SD. If that is the case and he doesn't want to add an HD set, I guess I'd try to score an old SD receiver and pay for an additional receiver charge. Personally, I wouldn't do it that way. I'm paying for HD and a DVR and want to have the full use of both.
As for SD being simpler, that just isn't true. My PI is permanently in line so I am just setting out the dish, connecting it to the SatIn jack I added and hooking up the receiver. The only additional step to a Slimline is setting the published tilt for the locale but that's child's play.
