It has a bookmark function for audiobooks and as long as you don't change the menu selection to anything else will start where you left off without having to go to the bookmark. Another possibility but more expensive is an Ipod which also does all you are looking for.
I agree, but the most important thing for me is putting the Rockbox firmware on it, which is easy. Never lose a bookmark that way, as you have multiple for the same book. With the factory firmware, as you indicate, as long as you don't change the menu function, it will always start up where you left off, but one mistake and you are searching for the last heard part.

The Ipod will only give one bookmark as well I believe.
