Hi,I just purchased a Winegard Pathway X2 portable satellite antenna. While on the road I will set the antenna on the carpet at rear of our 5th wheel. With the slideout IN for travel there is space for the antenna. It just fits with about 3/4 inch to spare on the sides.I now ask if you folks think I should add some padding for the antenna to rest on while traveling down the road? Maybe a folded up blanket for it to rest on with any extra blanket material squeezed against the sides?Something like that. Or do you have a better idea?Thanks,Glenn

We carry our Pathway X2 in the basement storage.Throw a couple of rugs over and around...never any issues.Not knowing what kind of rig you have maybe you don't have this option.

We sort of wedge ours in like you are doing. Be sure to rotate the antenna to the "travel" position. In the "travel" position the large plastic cover is pointing straight up.

All I do is rotate my x/2 to the "STOW" position and put it in the basement storage compartment. It's been riding there for 3 years and 31,000 miles and works just fine when I need to use it. If it can survive a blowing hail storm in Del Rio, TX then it surely survive a ride down the road in storage.

The 5th wheel can be a bit "bouncier" than a motor home so I would so something to keep it from sliding around or physically bouncing up and down but otherwise, you really don't need to do a thing.

Wait a minute...we're supposed to take these down when traveling? Just kidding. We wind ours back to the stow position and travel with it on the shower floor.

I also rotate the antenna dish to the 'stow' position and then put it in the box it came in. It has been riding in the basement of my fiver for 3 years now (20,000 miles).

Agree with the above -- we sit ours under the dinette table in the slideout on our Lance 1685 travel trailer. 15,000 miles, no extra padding and no problems.

My wife made a vinyl bag for ours. I just keep it in a compartment bay. No special padding.

No need to put it in the stow position unless it just happens to fit the storage area better (a frequent scenario). No matter it's position during travel, it will do just fine.
