If it was a 1yr old computer, I would agree with you...but a 10yr old computer is so out of date and other parts are likely to fail in the near future...it's just not worth it. Throw in a little extra to get a new computer with lots of RAM and an SSD.
Well my laptop is abut 10 years old, but I did the RAM and SDD upgrade over 8 years ago. The battery is dying and some small pieces of the bottom half of the housing have cracked off.
I have a extra dead battery so I might try to replace the cells. Or maybe treat myself to a new laptop with a AMD RYZEN processor and an IPS screen !
